Teachers Day

Happy Teachers day to all the wonderful teachers.They are people who mould our life and I am very thankful to some of my teachers whom i met in my school days. During my middle school, I remember telling my parents that i want to be a teacher.

Mamama's Pongal

When I was a kid, I used to love this pongal made by mamama(maternal grandmother in konkani). I have tried to replicate this recipe to the dot but I wasn't able to. I think I don't have my grannys touch. To my surprise even my daughter love this pongal. Post my marriage, whenever i used to be alone at home this was my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now Whenever my mood is off, I cook this.

Play group fun for LO

Its been 2 months my daughter is been going to Day Care for 90 minutes. The first two days was fun for her but after that she didn't like the school. She used to cry continuously asking for me and teacher used to give up and call me to pick her up.

Hectic trip to hometown

Its been hectic 2 months. My Lo started going to school from April 1st.Even though it was for 90 minutes, she used to come back in 45 mins. My whole time was going in picking her up and dropping her. She became so insecure and started clinging to me. I was looking forward for my trip to hometown Nagara. It was my cousin's upanayan. I was meeting some of my relatives after a longtime. My only worry was whether my daughter will be able to adjust to the crowd. It was hot and humid. She was cranky and irritated. I started repenting as to why I had come here. But being the elder sister, I had to go and perform certain rituals. I was looking for a relaxed trip but it turned into a nightmare. To top this, I gained weight (2kgs) eating nice food.The only thing i enjoyed was the sunrise @ Bantwal. Hope to have a nice trip whenever we plan to drive down.

Potty training

When my daughter turned 1 last august, we thought of not putting diapers to her and start her potty training. I read too many articles online to get some info on how to potty train and bought her training seat.

Friends or Acquaintance

We come across so many people in our life on a day to day basis. With some we make instant connections and think these will be our friends for life.

Womens day Potluck

On the occassion of womens day, a small function is organised in our apartment tomorrow. From my high school days, i have been involved in organizing cultural activites but this time even though i was helping out with planning i couldn't do much because of my daughter. I was little disappointed and frustrated with her but i think its a phase and will pass. Next year probably i will be involved in bigger way. All the women are getting something or the other as part of the potluck. I am cooking Mangalore Buns. Its kind of puri with Banana as one of the ingredient. Here, i have taken  ingredients for 40 buns.Recipe for this is as follows.
